Don't forget the combination of MRTG and Net-SNMP. It will give you graphs
(dailies, weeklies, monthlies and yearly). All of this serve by apache,
giving you access to the information with a browser to all of what you are
gathering. You are only limited by the support of snmp by your devices
(MIB).
Here we are using Nagios and MRTG for most of our stuff.

Hello Don Gurus... I'm looking to install a network monitoring and system stats tool. on 5 independent office networks. All are served by SUSE servers. A quick check of the SUSE delivered tools I find: argus, big sister, mon, and nagios Now I'm a SUSE fan 'cause of all the preconfigured software, but... What I'm looking for is : - I would like the people inside each (office) network to be able to view their statics localy, (20%) - I'd like to have a system at my office to monitor the remote networks, with notification of error conditions (30%). - the system stats should include historical charts of server (linux) CPU/DISK usage. (30%) The rest is nice to have, cosmetics, ease of configuration etc. Now to my questions: Can anybody out there share his/her experience with one or more of these tools, to help me decide on which to evaluate? all tips, warnings, experience appreciated....
