I've installed SuSE 9.1 Pro on an old HP Pavilion 6545C, which I'm using for backup storage and for ripping music. Everything is hunky dory except the CD drive, which decides to "eject" on its own at random times, leaving the drive with its "tongue" hanging out.
Feed it, water it and take a long walk with it. Pet it and brush it. Then spend a few minutes searching the archives or google for " cd open ejection suse-linux-e".
