Hello everyone Im having problems with apache2, has anyone seen this? I had apache2 installed, installed apache2-mod_php4 and all the php-xyz (extension modules). Now when I try rcapache2 start it fails, and I find this in /var/log/apache2/error_log:
[Tue Nov 23 18:22:25 2004] [warn] Init: Session Cache is not configured [hint: SSLSessionCache] [Tue Nov 23 18:22:25 2004] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec2) [Tue Nov 23 18:23:01 2004] [warn] Init: Session Cache is not configured [hint: SSLSessionCache] [Tue Nov 23 18:23:01 2004] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec2) [Tue Nov 23 18:23:16 2004] [warn] Init: Session Cache is not configured [hint: SSLSessionCache] [Tue Nov 23 18:23:16 2004] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec2) [Tue Nov 23 18:28:36 2004] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec2) [Tue Nov 23 18:30:46 2004] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec2) [Tue Nov 23 18:30:58 2004] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec2) [Tue Nov 23 18:32:51 2004] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec2)
I've seen a couple of similar things when googling, but no resolution - anyone seen/fixed this? Thanks, H
Hamish, assuming that you have suse 9.1, then do an online update and then you should be able to manually start apache2 with /usr/sbin/rcapache2 start. I just went through this myself the other day after an upgrade from 9.0 -most frustrating. But did find a clue in the suse knowledgebase of all places. ;-) cheers, Bruce PS I still have to work out how to get apache2 and mysql to start on boot, but that should be easy enough, and is another story.
