Hi gang,
Well, I figured out how to get my card reader to work, now the thing is to figure out how to format the card. It's a 128MB smart card, and when I try to format it to FAT16 in YaST partitioner, it always comes up FAT32. I've messed with the options and it still makes it FAT32. Is there another way? Man fdisk left me as confused as I'd be if it had been written in Chinese, heh.
Thanks,
John
fdisk /dev/sda Command (m for help): m Command action a toggle a bootable flag b edit bsd disklabel c toggle the dos compatibility flag d delete a partition l list known partition types #### m print this menu n add a new partition o create a new empty DOS partition table p print the partition table ##### q quit without saving changes s create a new empty Sun disklabel t change a partition's system id ##### u change display/entry units v verify the partition table w write table to disk and exit ##### x extra functionality (experts only "l" 6 FAT16 "d" "n" and select primary partition 1. "t" and select "6" for FAT16 "w". However the manpage is written, the command itself is quite intuitive. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer =====LINUX ONLY USED HERE=====
