I just ran across an annoying new feature in 9.2 which I cannot find how to disable: whenever you have your montor in "dpms off" mode, if a program writes to the screen, or the fan comes on, the monitor is turned back on. I have searched high and low, but cannot seem to find a mention of this feature or how to disable it. (Or is that the way it was supposed to work all along, and not turning back on was a now fixed bug?) My laptop is an HP Pavilion xz355, using an Intel Corp. 82845 845 (Brookdale) Chipset Host Bridge, PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0, and during boot Linux has always warned me: Warning: The ACPI AML in your computer contains errors, please nag the manufacturer to correct it. I have already applied all the updates available from YOU. What has changed? thanks for your time.
