The only 1.0.7 rpms I've found are on packman's site and I doubt they are compatible with what's in the kernel, there are no accompanying kernel modules either, i.e the driver. If you download the 1.0.7 driver from http://www.alsa-project.org/ and follow the INSTALL file, it should create the needed modules. Regards Sid.
yes, it is the alsa 1.0.7 rpms from packman I have installed http://packman.links2linux.de/index.php4?action=217&vn=2 Though these rpms installed ok, I also wondered if there really were installed new drivers for any new cards, as neither Yast2 nor alsaconf could find my Creative SB Audigy LS card. What I found was the following, which looks like a configuration file only(?) /usr/share/alsa/cards/AudigyLS.conf I wonder if somebody has succeeded to get Alsa 1.0.7 to work on Suse 9.1 (2.6 kernel) and/or on older Suse 9.0/8.1 (2.4 kernels)? If so, I would be happy to get some user tips regarding the critical points mentioned above, as this is a quite new area for me. And is it possible/easy to install "ready made" kernel modules as rpms, if sombody has succeeded to create them on beforehand? Thanks, Terje J. Hanssen
