I have two quick questions on Azureus.
Is Azureus a complete BitTorrent client or do I have to also install BitTorrent or some other p2p bridge / software?
What ports do I need to open in SuSEFirewall for Azureus to work?
Neither of these things is covered in the docs and a search of the SuSE arcives yielded nada.
Thanks john
Hi, Azureus is "complete". You need only JRE to run it. Nothing else. You need to open ports, only if you are going to share with the network. As how the system is designed, if you do not share, you receive lower bandwidth, so it's better to share :). Always :). To do that, just open any free port / port range/. Usually BitTorrent works on 69xx, but this is not obligatory. Your client will report the used ports to the tracker, so any port will work. And now a days, most of the trackers require not to use the normal port, but to select something in the range above 50000. I do use 50000-50010.
