Hello all,

I have this config :

PRODUCT: SuSE Linux I386 9.1 Professional
Hardware :
Ibm xSeries 235
Bios version : 7.10.18
Hardrive : IBM 32P0731 (6 disks, 2 with raid 1 and 3 with raid 5) with hardware raid controller ( IBM ServeRAID-6M firmware version : 7.10.18)

I get this error in my logs :

----------- Error : --------------------
Nov 22 12:32:16 dumbo kernel: Symbols match kernel version 2.6.5.
Nov 22 12:32:16 dumbo kernel: No module symbols loaded - kernel modules not enabled. Nov 22 12:37:16 dumbo kernel: mptscsih: ioc0: >> Attempting task abort! (sc=c5731380) Nov 22 12:37:16 dumbo kernel: mptscsih: ioc0: >> Attempting target reset! (sc=c5731380)

--- End of error ----------

I think I have a problem because the firmware version of the RAID controller is newer than the version of the driver of the kernel. How can I check which version of the serverraid driver is in the kernel ? Should I wait for the next kernel upgrade ?

The IBM tool told me that versions mismatch. I don't know if it is the cause of the scsi errors but it could be.

Someone has any hint about this ?

Thank you
