don't know about system monitor but install gkrellm, there you should see 2 or 4 (depending on hyperthread stuff)...
second, in my memory window i see all the 1 GB RAM are used..this is normal??
Depends on what it's being shown as.... In stead of not using free memory, linux cache's disk access there... so it is used, but at the same time free for use... again GKRELLM will not show 100% memory usage. Jerry
