Make sure you get cdrecord as part of your rm. Xcderoast uses it and if I remember correctly it is not loaded by default. C Hamel wrote:

I've had that problem in the past as well Fred. I read a few threads on the list here, and one of them mentioned that you need to fire up xcdroast as root and configure both the device, and user access. It's worked for me as a normal user after having done that.
