Konqueror gives me the pip. It tries to be too intelligent for it's own good. And too much artificial intelligence is artificial malevolence.
So I use firebird for most of my browsing, and set it as the default app for HTML.
But, sometimes I need a second browser, because firebird isn't coping or is already loaded with a cookie and I want to try something different.
Konqueror is no good, it acts like a sulky child. Click on a link and it says, "I'm not your HTML app, do you want me to open this with Firebird or save it?"
No button to say, "Just do it, you stupid heap of pedantic logic, you're a browser, it's HTML, display it!"
Anyone know a way around this? Or should I write Konqueror off entirely?
I use both Konq and Firefox (not Firebird, which is ancient) and they "behave" themselves perfectly together. You say you have Firebird as the default HTML browser and when you click on a link Konqueror won't open it, but this is correct behaviour, or..? Maybe it would be better not to anthropomorphise computers and software? They simply do what they are told to do.... jal -- GPG fingerprint = 3D45 5509 D380 26A4 523E A9D8 A66A 5F38 CA43 BB0E
