I did an apt-get -f install. It had found and extra libexim, which I had installed for gimp2.
It deleted a bunch of gnome and kde stuff. I did say "yes", but figured it would replace things. It didn't. I used YaST and got a lot of stuff back, but have no menus in KDE.
there is the action groupinstall (apt version > 0.5.15cnc6-rb5). Perhaps that works for you? With apt groupnames the availble groups are shown:
apt groupnames Group name Description
Games Games Gnome Gnome system Kde-Desktop KDE Desktop Environment Kde All of KDE .... These groups are defined by suse and are used when suse is installed. That means in case of kde the group is made for kde-3.2. It might be that not all dependencies will be met or will be correct if you use this option with the latest kde version... See if 'apt groupinstall Kde-Desktop' will help you a little further. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
