Maybe you should have you power supply or power source inspected? If all
brands of hard drives fail on a constant basis, then there's obviously
something wrong elsewhere.

Just a thought. A friend of mine had a computer at work that had a
motherboard that had some sort of problem. We never found out what, but the
symptoms were that it ate basically everything you plugged into it. Hard
drives, CD-ROMs, network cards, modems. Nothing lasted more than a couple of
months. Eventually replaced the mobo and the troubles went away.
