Hi everybody, I am using Suse 9.1 and I would like to use a remote control (one provided with sb audigy,RM-900B) with kaffeine. I installed LIRC and IRKick (using YAST) but when I start the service for lirc I get the following error: FATAL: Module lirc_gpio not found. Starting lircd () lircd 0.7.0pre1: could not open config file '/etc/lircd.conf' lircd 0.7.0pre1: No such file or directory ..done
I read that I should use irrecord for creating lirc.conf but if I execute it I get the following:
irrecord - application for recording IR-codes for usage with lirc
Copyright (C) 1998,1999 Christoph Bartelmus(lirc@bartelmus.de)
irrecord: could not open /dev/lirc irrecord: default_init(): No such device or address irrecord: could not init hardware (lircd running ? --> close it, check permissions)
I modified the permissions for /dev/lirc so I don't know what is wrong.
Also I modified the file in sysconfig and it seems that it doesn't load the module.
Anyone could help me with this?
start with the documentation on how to configure lirc: /usr/share/doc/packages/lirc/README.SUSE Josephine
