I repeat because my problem was not easy to explain:
I have problem to reconfigure my Epson printer C70 on one of my PC.
YAST2 asks for SuSE-8.2 CD1.
But YAST2 does not find CD1.
I have 2 drives: CD/DVD-RW on /dev/sr0 (ex /dev/hdc) and CD-Writer on /dev/sr1 (ex /dev/hdd).
On console I can mount a CD-Rom in the CD/DVD-RW (/dev/sr0) with 'mount /media/dvd' or in the CD-Writer (/dev/sr1) with 'mount /media/recorder'.
But YAST2 does not find CD1 in /dev/sr0 or /dev/sr1.
Questionn thus: how to tell YAST2 where the SuSE-8.2 CD1 is? I can't either install new packages with the SuSE-!.2 install CD's.
Hoping it is clear.
Thanks
I had a simular problem when I was using 8.2. My solution was as follows...
as root
cd /dev ln -s sr0 (or sr1) cdrom
Your pick as to which one to use and then try YaST again.

Still no luck. I still can't access a CD-ROM in CD/DVD-RW (device /dev/sr0). Question still remains: how to configure Yast2 so it knows to which device corresponds CD-ROM reader on hdc configured as device /dev/sr0 It seems very difficult when you have a mixed device (CD reader + DVD reader/burner). -- Alain Barthélemy cassandre@bartydeux.be http://www.bartydeux.be Linux User #315631
