I may have a borked installation of 9.1 professional.
I was surprised that the install, after having put lilo on hda, didn't have any internet config or didn't ask me to set a root password.
When I reboot my LVM2 volumes don't get mounted (I added 'auto' in fstab but no luck -- and I wonder if I should even need to add that for /home and /user to get mounted anyway).
YaST was able to set up and configure my ethernet card, but after a reboot the interface doesn't start. It will start if I go into yast and reconfigure the card.
Finally, I did 'passwd root' to set my password, but I don't seem to need a password to log in -- root followed by a carriage return gets met in.
This is my first Suse install so I'm a little confused.
Someone suggested that I might have been booting in in rescue mode, but I just rebooted without the install CD in the drive, and same thing. I choose "Linux" as my lilo boot choice. Here's my lilo.conf entry: image = /boot/vmlinuz label = Linux initrd = /boot/initrd optional root = /dev/hda1 vga = 0x31a append = "splash=silent desktop resume=/dev/hda2 showopts" Still no volumes mounted and no ethernet on reboot. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Stephen
