Try this: start X with "-dpi 100". In my case, I use kdm, so I edited /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/Xservers and added the "-dpi 100" in the line that reads: :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X -dpi 100 -nolisten tcp -br vt7 Then I killed both X and KDM, and restarted kdm with "/etc/init.d/xdm restart". I can read the gnome fonts now. Chris On Fri, 2004-09-24 at 17:43, Osho GG wrote:
Hi,
I have Suse 9.1 professional with KDE 3.3. Most of the time I use KDE applications but once in a while I would like to use a Gnome application. I wanted to change the fonts for Gnome properties and found that doing gnome-font-properties will do weird things to my desktop. Some of these weird things are:
1. The speed of the mouse became extremely fast. 2. All fonts are of tiny size (like 1 pt) - None of them are readable. 3. Any new KDE application (such as Konsole) that I launch have such tiny fonts.
I basically have to pretty much kill my KDE session and restart it to get to sane mouse and font behavior.
I tried just launching Gnome and I found that the fonts are extremely tiny in Gnome desktop.
Any suggestions about how to fix this?
thanks, Osho
