I have suddenly lost access to my dvd/cd rw device. It is there when the
system boots: with my 9.1 dvd in it the system tries to book from it. But
it won't read any cd or dvd in it. My system thinks it is mounted, but
when I cd to it and do ls I get this message:
ls: .: No medium found
Here is my mtab:
/dev/hda6 / reiserfs rw,acl,user_xattr 0 0
proc /proc proc rw 0 0
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs rw 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
/dev/hda5 /boot reiserfs rw,acl,user_xattr 0 0
/dev/md0 /home reiserfs rw,acl,user_xattr 0 0
/dev/hdc /media/cdrecorder subfs ro,nosuid,nodev,fs=cdfss,unhide,procuid,iocharset=utf8 0 0
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy subfs rw,nosuid,nodev,sync,fs=floppyfss,procuid 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev 0 0
/dev/hdc /media/cdrecorder subfs ro,nosuid,nodev,fs=cdfss,unhide,procuid,iocharset=utf8 0 0
/dev/hdc /media/cdrecorder subfs ro,nosuid,nodev,fs=cdfss,unhide,procuid,iocharset=utf8 0 0
Where do start looking to fix this?
Thanks, Henry Harpending
