Hi Andreas,
I do have a similar entry in /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers, but only one, an "0" entry.
I'm not sure where to find $kde_dir/share/config/kdm/Xservers. Is there a file in there that I can search for?
Sorry I wasn't clear enough. $KDE_DIR refers to the directory where you have installed your KDE desktop, probably /opt/kde3. If so, then you will find the Xservers file in the /opt/kde3/share/config/kdm directory. If KDE is installed in another directory, you will have to look in the respective place. Edit this file and add the missing lines as shown in my previous post. Do the same with the Xservers file you found in the /etc/X11/xdm directory. Then you may restart the kdm process with the command (as root): 'rckdm restart', or simply do a reboot of your machine. I don't remember well, but I think simply logging off from KDE and logging on again will not be enough.
