Did you configure the syslog daemon to accept data from the network? You can configure this on /etc/sysconfig/syslog. Edit the parameter there from:
SYSLOGD_PARAMS="" (the default..no parametes) to SYSLOGD_PARAMS="-r"
restart syslog then...
Make sure you don't have iptables blocking incoming UDP data from the network device.

Thanks, that was it. Where in the world can I find what those params mean? Thanks to Scott for responding as well. I just had to go thru my local* settings and finish those up. -Jeff
