Greetings, I am new to suse. I recently installed 9.1 (default installation) and was able to get everything working except Kinternet. Kinternet will never fully connect the first time used after boot. It dials, answers, but the little lighting bolt (lower right corner icon) never goes away. After hangup and a second try, it always fully connects. BUT, when connected, everything slows down by a factor of twenty. For example, Opening a terminal window is almost immediate when not connected but takes about 10 seconds when Kinternet is connected. Same with other apps, like kmail etc. I watched suse guard while Kinternet is connected and not connected. Cpu/memory usage is about the same in both cases when opening another app. The only thing I did notice is that the process count went from 68 to 75 when Kinternet connected. I am running only Kmail when 68 processes showup, something using alot of process (kde ?). Since I don't know have any idea how to fix this, any help is greatly appreciated. Maybe I should just uninstall it and try kppp?

Go with kppp.
