Does anyone know the correct settings in sax2 for this monitor? I found a similar Dell at:

and tried the 1680x1050 setting. It seems to work fine, but I don't want to damage my display if it's wrong.
Is it not the case that modern monitors will not allow themselves to be driven beyond their rated sync rates? In other words, if you get an image, then the sync rates you've chosen are acceptable to the monitor.
Please, someone, correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe that's why my ten-ton Apple Studio monitor gave out prematurely.
There are SOME monitors that are supposed to have some protection in them, but as far as I know, MOST don't. Further, you can be sure than Dell monitors don't........made as cheaply as possible. The problem is, that Dell and many others don't publish the refresh rates in their "owner manuals," if you can call them that......incomplete and VERY POORLY written. So, the only option one has is to call tech. support and be very insistant that you find out EXACTLY the refresh rates for that monitor, then write them down.
