To All: I have the following setup: ADVANSYS dual channel scsi: Channel 1 2 x 36 GB sda (ID0) & sdb (ID2) Channel 2 2 x 18 GB sdc (ID1) & sdd (ID2) Adaptec 2940 UW sde (ID0) - IBM 2GB sdf (ID1) - Quatum 9GB sdg (ID3) - Quantum 4.5 GB --- (ID4) - Seagate 2GB sdh (ID5) - Quantum 4.5 GB --- (ID6) - IBM 2GB Why aren't the drives at ID4 & ID 6 being detected by Linux during boot? Both drives show up in the Adaptec bios. Is this a cable limitation? If so why do all drives show up in the Adaptec bios but not under Linux? Are there additioal paramters I need to provide to have Linux detect all six drives? I searched the FAQ, SCSI HOWTO, and GOOGLE, but did not find anything directly applicable. I am trying to string the drives on the Adaptec controller in a RAID 0 configuration (strip set). Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks db Following is boot log (note that there are no errors on boot): <4>Attached scsi disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 <4>Attached scsi disk sdb at scsi0, channel 0, id 2, lun 0 <4>Attached scsi disk sdc at scsi1, channel 0, id 1, lun 0 <4>Attached scsi disk sdd at scsi1, channel 0, id 2, lun 0 <4>Attached scsi disk sde at scsi2, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 <4>Attached scsi disk sdf at scsi2, channel 0, id 1, lun 0 <4>Attached scsi disk sdg at scsi2, channel 0, id 3, lun 0 <4>Attached scsi disk sdh at scsi2, channel 0, id 5, lun 0 <4>SCSI device sda: 71132960 512-byte hdwr sectors (36420 MB) <6> sda: sda1 <4>SCSI device sdb: 71132960 512-byte hdwr sectors (36420 MB) <6> sdb: sdb1 <4>SCSI device sdc: 35566480 512-byte hdwr sectors (18210 MB) <6> sdc: sdc1 <4>SCSI device sdd: 35566480 512-byte hdwr sectors (18210 MB) <6> sdd: sdd1 <4>SCSI device sde: 4226725 512-byte hdwr sectors (2164 MB) <6> sde: <4>SCSI device sdf: 17781520 512-byte hdwr sectors (9104 MB) <6> sdf: <4>SCSI device sdg: 8899737 512-byte hdwr sectors (4557 MB) <6> sdg: <4>SCSI device sdh: 8899737 512-byte hdwr sectors (4557 MB) <6> sdh:
