You can use the <tab> key to jump between selectable "buttons" in the console version of Yast2. Jerry BTW: to use the highlighted fields you need to use <ALT><Letter> (or was it <CTRL><letter> I forget) On Tue, 2004-08-24 at 11:03, Maura Edelweiss Monville wrote:
I've just restarted many times the NEW installation of SuSE 9.1 from CD. My problem is that the mouse is not detected correctcly when h/w is probed by SuSE 9.1. Therefore Yast enters text mode. But in this mode the keyboard does not responde .. I tried desperately to type in the highlighted letter of the keyword (for instance "A' for Accept, "C" for Cande, etc..) but I get no feedback. The mouse is not detected correctly threfore I cannot use it for positioning on the accepted keyword. I'm left with the keys: F1 for help which brings up a 2-entry menu: F9 --> Abort and F10 --> Accept
When I get to the point where the installation has to start a menu pops up with a warning and two choices: <Yes> and <No>. Here I get stuck. In fact only the <No> button is highlithed and there is no way for me to select the <Yes> button either by the mouse or by using the keyboard arrows since neither works. Therefore the interactive installation forces me to choose <No> so it pops up another menu warning against losing all settings and offering two choicesa: <Abort Installation> and <Continue Installation> In this case the <Continue Installation>. button is highlited so it gets selected .. this brings me back to the pevious screen where the choices are: <Change>, <Accept>, <Abort>. Here <Accept> is highlighted so it brings up the <Yes> <No> menu again ... In a few words: it's a vicious circle that prevents me from installing SuSE 9.1 On the other hand SuSE 8.2 is still (thank Godness) up and running on my DELL Optiplex desktop and the mouse is perfectly detected and working "PS/2 mouse (Aux_port)"
Any suggestion/help is greatly appreciated. Thank you,
