I'm using apt (synaptic) to upgrade some of my upgradeable files (alsa,apt,cups-drivers,audacity,gimp,k3b,openvpn,synaptic). But in every instance apt insists on also upgrading arts,art-devel,kdebas3,kdebase3-devel,kdelib3, and kdelib3-devel. It wants to upgrade the kde packages to 3.3.0-1, I'm using 3.2.3-7; Suse 9.1. Should apt/synaptic be insisting to upgrading the kde and art packages to upgrade the programs I tried to upgrade? For example, why should I have to update the kde packages to 3.3.0-1 for synaptic, a frontend for apt? Is there a problem here? Thanks, Jerome
