Hi all,
W.R.T. accounting software, I know about and have tried GnuCash + MoneyDance and found them both unsatisfactory. Being a current Quicken 98 user doesn't help either. I am looking to either get Quicken working on linux via Wine or an equal opensource option which can run on linux natively.
Looking through the email I received from Icewalkers today I noticed that a new version of OPEN BUSINESS ACCOUNTING/INVENTORY had been released and was wondering if anyone has used the app and how it compares to Quicken?
Input appreciated Hylton
Out of curiosity I loaded Quicken 98 Deluxe with the latest Codeweavers Standard 30-day trial ($39.95 download) and it installed just fine and seems to run just fine... now if I can just remember that password I used over 4 years ago I'll be able to load up an old file and really test it. I setup a new account and imported current info = works fine so far. And fast. I'd encourage you to choose GnuCash or KMyMoney or MoneyDance or PLCash and run parallel with Quicken 98 while providing feedback to your Open Source program of choice to get it up to your standards.
