From the news at www.smcc.demon.nl/webcam/ : 2004-05-13: Don't panic about PWC missing in 2.6.6; it's not. But the USB maintainer decided to label it as "BROKEN" because of a single compile warning. That's all. A warning about a void function that should return an int (or vice versa), which has admittedly been in 2.6 for a while, because I was quite busy with PWC 9. I simply didn't feel like writing a one line patch when a new version could be there any time soon. Flames should go to greg@kroah.com.
Er, no kidding?
The problem is it's NOT in the SuSE 2.6 kernel. That message has no meaning for SuSE users.

I'm sorry. Since I recently got a Quickcam Pro 4000, and I was looking for info, I stumbled on this. Since I'm running SuSE 9.0 it's not important to me (I hope, didn't try yet), but I thought it could help. -- Met vriendelijke groeten, Koenraad Lelong R&D Manager ACE electronics n.v.
