I got a new driver for our printer, however, I do not know how to use it!
I tried to put all files into the /usr/share/cups/model/sharp/*.ppd and with
the control center to change the driver.
However, although I see the printer I cannot change it (in Administrator
mode).
While the printer driver base is created another "Error" window pops
up" (red ball with a white x in it and below the button [OK], however, it
does not contain any text!!!!
When I choose the printer, I get another window (Modify Printer) with two
(!!!) identical printer drivers for the chosen printer. Regardless which one
I choose, I get another Window with the Error message
Unable to load the requested driver:
[OK]
(No second line !!!)
The printer driver will not been changed!
Any hints?
bye
Ronald
