Hello,
I am trying to set up a mini linux sub-network alongside a windows sub-network.
I am using suse 9.1 professional.
On the windows server machine with XP professional I have two network cards, one card configured with a fixed ip hooked directly to to the cisco 800 series router from my ISP. The other card is hooked
to the a hub connected to 6 pc. With the xp network wizard, the windows sub-net work is configured to DHCP and all works just fine!
On the linux server machine with 2 network cards I did exacly a similar setup as with the windows:
One network card hooked to the cisco router and the other to a subnet hub with a few linux suse
client pc. I configured the linux subnet with a DHCP server. In the linux server machine, the eth0
hooked to the cisco router is configured with my ISP provided fixed ip, mask and dns. The eth1 is configured with a third-class ip address, mask and dns.
The problem:
Although I could connect to the internet through the linux server machine, and I could ping the clients on the sub-network and the eth1 connecting the hub, I could not access the internet with any of the client pc. I receive the follwowing error message:
"An error occured while loading http://www.google.com/:
Could not connect to host www.google.com"
Thanks,
Sunny.
