What is LBA? It might be that it is that. The cylinders are 512 kb of
size. But how can I change my hard disk to another format? I mean
everything installs fine except from the Bootloader... But I can boot
from CD when I choose under installation -> Boot installed system.

Would a new hard disk solve the problem?

fdisk showed the correct partitions with the first one marked for
active. But I deleted it now again and try to install again and then use
it for a while with this very obscure option until I found out how to
solve it.

/dev/hda1 /boot
/dev/hda2 swap
/dev/hda3 /
/dev/hda4 /home
