YoU Notification if Reboot Needed?

Both our 9.0 and 9.1 systems successfully downloaded and installed the kernel update indicated in the security bulletin issued yesterday. Of course, to take effect, the system must be rebooted which we did manually. Question: Is there some way to have YoU notify the administrator that a reboot is needed in such cases?
