Can you post the rest of this thread?
In a nutshell ========== * Someone asked if there were virus scanners for Linux. * Someone responded that he had a Linux anti-virus package installed on a Server and it didn't stop the viruses be passed on. * A third person said he must be joking. * I said that Linux gets the blame if it's anywhere in the loop. If it's all Windows, the the end users get the blame for their stupidity. It's never Windows or M$'s problem. * A fifth person did not read my post thoroughly and thought it said the opposite of what I wrote, hence the confusion that no doubt prompted the request for a repost. In between there were some helpful suggestions as to the various packages that could be used on Linux to save Windows from Windows viruses, a necessity in some circumstances such as PHB's (Pointy Hair Bosses) who will insist on safe (more like saft as in saft-in-the-head) choice of using Windows as taught them in PHB school. There was one guy about a year ago when the Windows viruses were rampant, who complained that his PHB demanded that everyone should use Windows. I had one experience at Fujitsu, Madrid where I needed to get on to our corporate site to get some info sent as emails, the local server wouldn't let me, it complained I wasn't using Windows -- and we a mainframe and SPARC server manufacturer.
