I just tried to look up mail with man mail and I got man nail The keyboard is not putting out incorrect characters so how did the man pages get swapped.
When you find something that does not appear as you expect, look around a bit and experiment/explore. You may be supprised at what you discover. ls -l /usr/bin/mail mail = nail = mail = ....
I was trying to look up information to use the internal of *nix smtp in place of the one provided by my isp and several online accounts. I do not have a server just dialup.
You need to read the manuals you rec'd with your boxed set of SuSE about servers and smtp. If you compose mail on your computer, ie: not web-mail, and send it to your isp for relaying out on the net, you are serving mail and using smtp on your machine. 'dialup' does not mean that you do not have a server and the main difference with dialup and other services is speed and not having a continuous connection, not the absence of servers. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos
