9.1 works fine. Clean install on 2nd hd, with XP on 1st. Could not figure out how to implement fs other than Reiser. Had to ask how to get kmail to send, got it working but lost instructions. Still having trouble with scanner (haven't worked on some suggestions yet) altho YAST found the SCSI scanner, and have not hooked up sound output, so don't know if it works. Bought Linux WordPerfect 8 and it works, except for the right hand keypad with NumLock turned off, which the WP people said was not implemented :-( On every other app that keypad works. (I like to use the Del key on that keypad, since it's right next to my trackball.) I would sure like to see the entire Linux partition in the "My Computer" window, but can't do that. Can (and did) rename stupid window name to "This Computer". Several days ago I decided to leave the machine running, and it is solid, probably about a week uptime-- I don't know how to make the system tell me how long. --doug On Thursday 03 June 2004 02:16, Ted wrote:

I switched to SuSE at 8.2 and I've loved it. I bought 9.0 and 9.1, but have not yet installed either.
I'm a bit concerned about stories of file corruption with reiserfs in 9.1 (2.6 kernel). "getting things working" problem I can deal with by putting the new version on my test partition and working on it in the evenings, but corrupted filesystems are a bigger concern.
Of course there's a greater propensity to hear from those having troubles on a mailing list, but I would like to see if those having success with 9.1 would care to chime in on a quick survey.
Just a simple note saying if your 9.1 install is a success, whether you did a clean install, an update of an existing system, or both (clean install on system partition(s) but left other partitions (like /home) untouched, what type of filesystems you are using, and anything else that might be relevant.
