I had the same problem. I wish I could tell you what the solution was, but I lost some of what I thought was saved mail. Anyway, if you go to the archives and search for something like can't send in Kmail--maybe use the keyword "send" you'll probably find the mail that was sent me that fixed the problem. (I know you had to input something into a sub-window in the kmail setup routine.) And no, you don't get any error message, IIRC. --doug On Wednesday 02 June 2004 17:03, Andy Choens wrote:
What error messages, if any, do you get when you try to send mail using Kmail?
Well, that's just it. I wasn't getting any. I checked log messages and everything else, and everything was fine. Theonly indication that something was amiss was that the messages never left my outbox and there was a message at the bottom of kmail saying that some messages were not able to be sent. I checked my identity and looked again at the spelling in my smtp settings. I knew I had the right password and what not since mozilla-mail worked fine.
On a whim. I tried creating a new user, and set it up there. Oddly enough, it worked just fine. So, I deleted my main user account, deleted the directory, and recreated it. Somehow everything is not just fine.
