Hey Group;
Can anyone think of a reason that a known good printer and cable plugged into a new motherboard fails to print. I have setup it as ECP+EPP on address 378 irq ? (normally 7) and SuSE 9.0 "hwinfo --printer" fails to find it. /proc/devices shows char. "lp" and /proc/interupts shows "parport0" are found. Cups seems to be working correctly and is waiting for the printer.
This is a new motherboard Asus A7N8X-E with a untested LPT port. I wonder if this may be a acpi issue or a defective port.
Almost definitely an ACPI problem. Try booting with "acpi=off" - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAuyyT4U2uQswGyDcRAhAHAKC/Wlq/C6Tdox68h646J7iFG1PsKQCeL/jA mxy+vV/JC2RMO2ThtrOqhj0= =vc3E -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
