Hi - I've got one little glitch with the new install of 9.1 on my Thinkpad X31. After getting into KDE after startup, I get the error message that powersaved can't start because the user isn't a member of the powersave group. I go into YaST users configuration and don't find a powersave group, although the man pages for powersave say there is a system group already. When I try to add the powersave group in YaST group config, it gives me an error because the group name is longer than 8 characters. (snip my own stuff)
I have to confirm this same behaviour in a Fujitsu_Siemens Lifebook 4010E "Centrino".
Thanks, AX. Also, I did actually log in as root (which I hadn't done before) and got the same error message, so it can't really be because I don't have root permissions then. Perhaps the issue is really because cpufreqd is already running and that makes a conflict. However, unless someone really knows and has an answer, I don't want to change anything because now the power management works so perfectly. I can leave the laptop on and it doesn't overheat, it turns off the display just right, and it stays cool always. I can live with the error message as long as the laptop works! Thanks for your input.
