Hello, After having installed 9.1 I cannot get my Sitecom WL011 wireless PCMCIA card to work. (It works flawlessly with 9.0 and 8.2 before that). The card seems to be recognized allright but then things start going wrong. /var/log/messages is telling me : May 15 22:41:45 MEDION kernel: cs: memory probe 0xa0000000-0xa0ffffff: clean. May 15 22:41:45 MEDION cardmgr[1783]: socket 0: ATMEL 11 Mbps SiteCom PCMCIA Card May 15 22:41:46 MEDION kernel: eth1: MAC address 00:60:b3:75:44:11 May 15 22:41:46 MEDION kernel: eth1: Atmel at76c50x wireless. Especially the last message "firmware atmel_at76c502.bin is missing, cannot start." is puzzling me. I looked in this list service and on the Internet, but could not find any useful hints or solution. ================================================ Can anybody advise how to get that firmware installed, please ? ================================================ BTW, /etc/pcmcia/atmel-suse.conf contains : card "ATMEL 11 Mbps SiteCom PCMCIA Card" manfid 0xd601, 0x0007 bind "atmel_cs" This has automatically been created during the install and seems OK to me. Also, /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-wlan-bus-pcmcia contains : BOOTPROTO='static' BROADCAST='192.168.123.255' IPADDR='192.168.123.110' MTU='' NETMASK='255.255.255.0' NETWORK='192.168.123.0' REMOTE_IPADDR='' STARTMODE='hotplug' WIRELESS_AP='' WIRELESS_BITRATE='auto' WIRELESS_CHANNEL='4' WIRELESS_ESSID='berenhol' WIRELESS_KEY='FABEDEC512' WIRELESS_MODE='Managed' WIRELESS_NICK='' WIRELESS_NWID='' WIRELESS_POWER='yes' _nm_name='static-0' This is similar to the correct working settings in 9.0 and 8.2 TIA and cheers, -- Jan Elders the Netherlands http://www.xs4all.nl/~jrme/ "Home of the Network Acronyms"
