I just received 9.1 pro. This is the first time I've tried suse, I've always used redhat before. I like to just install everything, so I make sure I have all the libs and apps to build software packages.
Is there any way to do this with suse? I couldn't find any option.
There is no option to do this, sadly, always has been a complaint of mine and a pal.

Sid,
With Yast you can export a list of all your packages to a .sel listing. This list can be imported when you install a new version of SuSE and when you select your software (put it on a floppy or some partition and mount that manually to be able to load it). Helps me for not having the packages i need and i find it a better apporach than to just install all packages/ garbage/ security risks.
HTH, Peter
Thanks, I never noticed the export/import option in yast, I shall pass it on to Pete when he upgrades to 9.1. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.
