Hi: Suse 9.1 I moved my CD-RW drive from the secondary to the primary IDE channel. (My hard drive is on SATA). Then I lost the KDE desktop icon for the Cdrecorder. I thought it would come back after cooperating when Yast said it found new hardware, and I Oked whatever it put before me. Then I went to install new software. I selected Mozilla, then it asked for CD 2. When I stuck it in the drive, it kept asking for CD 2. So I went to change the installation media. I deleted the CD drive that it had configured, then let it search for a new one. It then added the Suse 9.1 CD on URL cd:/// Now when I go to install software, I see only the packages that have been installed. I can't get it to show me the uninstalled packages so I can install new stuff. Also, Yast has mounted the /dev/hde (CD) device multiple times on /var/adm... and so the only way to get the disk out is to become root and unmount it manually. Things are broken. Any clues how to fix it? Thanks. -- ____________________________________ Christopher R. Carlen Principal Laser/Optical Technologist Sandia National Laboratories CA USA crcarle@sandia.gov
