-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 OK, I'm tired right now and probably shouldn't be about to work on the kernel. My kernel sources are in /usr/src/linux-2.4.20.SuSE. I've created a group kdev, and run chgrp -R kdev /usr/src/linux-2.4.20.SuSE ls -l confirms that this is the group. My userid is a member of kdev. I have also run chmod -R g+w /usr/src/linux-2.4.20.SuSE and ls -l confirms that the permissions of the directory are drwxrwxr-x. The files in the directory have the permissions -rw-rw-r-- When I try "cp /boot/linuz.config /usr/src/linux-2.4.20.SuSE/.config" I'm getting a "permission denied" error. While a nap would probably let me see this, I need to get this moving. Would someone be so kind as to point out my obvious error? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAnl1UjeziQOokQnARAsNqAJ94Uvepkk2574/wWBD3la7BObi33QCeNOmx ewVtSbfi3Jw0YeIOWTudrQ0= =SHtf -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
