OK, A new problem has cropped up in KDE3.2 (on SuSE9.0) I originally installed SuSE9.0 from CDROM. I had the bright idea to change the install media from CD to DVD. That really screwed things up. I cannot install anything from the DVD at all. It labels the disks as DVD, but insists that the data actually comes from CDs. So I get requests from YaST for DVD 4 for example. Plus, I get all sorts of CDROM icons on my desktop - for example I have one now that showed up when I installed some video4linux stuff. It's labeled: CD-ROM (sr0) [/var/adm/YaST/InstSrcManager/IS_CACHE_0x00000002/MEDIA] and I cannot get rid of it unless I log out of KDE... sometimes I have to reboot to remove it. The icon doesn't seem to exist anywhere but on the desktop - even as root, I can't remove the silly thing. Does anyone have any ideas at all what is causing this - and why I cannot successfully change my installation media??? C.
