I've lost the original thread now, however I've done some playing around and still haven't found a solution. In reference to a user group thread that was linked in an earlier response, I can't find a program called gnomecc (for Control Centre) however there is certainly a program called gnome-control-center but this simply brings up the normal Desktop Preferences options as you find in the main menu. In response to the original poster, my Open Office actually works OK - it displays the fonts that I've set using the Fonts utility. However, none of the programs I've downloaded (Netscape, Opera, Firefox) take any notice. In Netscape for example, I've set its own preferences to display MS Comic in all situations (not that I want MS Comic, but it was just an experiment!) but it has no effect. The font it displays in all its own menus, windows, and any web pages seems to be some default sans-serif font that is ugly and bears no relation to the fonts I've specified in Netscape itself or in the Gnome Fonts utility. Does anyone here have Netscape/Opera/Firefox, and are you able to control their fonts? -- Chris Simon osian@zetnet.co.uk http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/csimon/
