Hi,
I am a new user of SUSE.
Can someone point me to a good SUSE oriented document for configuring SMTP-AUTH and SUSE's modifications of sendmail in general. It seems that they did some strange things - although I just installed it and I haven't really found anything in their 9.0 docs that explain their mentality of things.
Cheers, Todd
Yeas, I wish there were such a write up as well... I found this to be quite a struggle. (SuSE 8.2) in that there are at least three packages to configure at once. SaslAuthD, Starttls, and your MTA. and usually pam as well. You can google for it. But nothing I found was suse specific. I never got anything except SASLAUTHD_AUTHMECH=sasldb to work because all the others were erroring out. I did get starttls to work so that I have encrypted connections. That was fairly easy. You have to start the service for saslauthd before any of this works. I can probably provide my notes, but they are at work so if you find nothing else send me email to jsa AT norcomix.dyndns.org as I will be traveling for a while but I will be checking mail. Yes, that email is spam blocked. Don't reply to this email because I won't be here. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
