[Fwd: [suse-multimedia-e] [Fwd: Help, please, with a tv tuner card using a Conexant chipset on Suse 9 system]]

I installed several days ago as a replacement to my Leaddtek WinFast
TV2000 XP Deluxe card, which I've been using successfully for many
months, the
DV2000 card also from Leadtek. Suse 9 doesn't recognise it, and the
settings I
had for the Deluxe card won't activate the new card.

The new card uses the Conexant CX2388X series chipset, and the scan of
its innards produces the following info:

Device Identifier (spec) : 91680
Device Identifier : 100352

Sub-Vendor identifier : 69757 (ie, LeadTek)
Unique key : 60go.TTV2ZT_l+r4

Vendor Identifier : 70897 (ie, Conexant)

Old_unique_key : fbl_x.TTV2ZT_l+r4

I've looked in the file CARDLIST in the documentation for bttv but I
cannot immediately see anything there to get this card working.

I've also Googled re the Conexant chipset and found that a number of
tuners are using it, and for some time now so it isn't a new chipset
which suddenly appeared on the scene.

Support at SuSE suggest that I post a message here for help, and could
also try using the "default" kernel 2.6.4 (which they don't support) -
I've looked in the directory for the Mantel kernel build and can see 2
versions of the default kernel as well as 2 versions of the source rpms
and don't know which I should download (I guess I'll also have to
download the source code to be able to compile the kernel to fit my
current setup, right? Or is it only the source code I need to compile?).

Any help re this problem greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
