Hi all,
from time to time I use K3b to record data on CDROM; I think it's a nice tool/frontend... when it works.
Specially, when recording data with large filenames including parenthesis () or brackets []/{}, K3b fails - I don't see any explanatory error message, just "Error"... but then I go back to cdrecord, which I use most of the time, and everything goes smooth as silk w/o errors...
Is there any reason for K3b to fail where cdrecord does not? is it just a configuration issue?
TIA, Martin
I know there were some issues with earlier 2.6.x kernels and k3b, but I don't know if they have been resolved. I've been using xcdroast since hitting problems with k3b, it has always worked, just as much eye-candy if not more, it's as easy to use and it works with 2.6.x kernels (xcdroast 0.98alpha15). I know it's not kde, but you can setup a desktop icon, I use kde, gnome and many other apps to get jobs done with a smile. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.
