I've been able to use my Fujifilm 3800 camera directly connected via USB to download pictures from the XD card to hd. I've been searching for an answer for a while and am turning to this list as a last resort.
I would like to use the "Fujifilm Image Memory card Reader DPC-R1" to move the pictures from the XD card to the HD. This is a two in one card reader for XD and Smartmedia Cards. Is it possible to mount this the same way I was able to mount the camera? I see no option for that seeing as how dmesg doesn't show up with a drive option for this reader. Please let me know if I'm riding on the short bus and if there is anything I can do to get off this sticky seat.
If you are not using any other SCSI disks you will want to look for sda messages in dmesg for finding the drive to mount such as sda1. With the hotplugging working pretty good today an icon should show up on your desktop (KDE) automatically within a couple of minutes for you to click on. This has been working for me pretty well since 8.0 days. You may also want to look at a different card reader if this one does not work. -- Ken Schneider unix user since 1989 linux user since 1994 SuSE user since 1998 (6.2)
