I hope 9.1 is using Gimp 2.0......VERY nice, except that it still can't import Canon RAW files nor save in RAW format. There's an "old" plugin to import, but it only works on Gimp 1.2.
I believe that as of the latest beta, GIMP 2.0 is included, replacing 1.2
Dunno about the RAW format though
NO help on the Gimp newsgroup. If there's a Gimp elist, I don't know about it. The lack of this ability in Gimp is puzzling to me, as Canon is the largest seller in digital photography, (low end, mid-range, and high-end), followed by Nikon. Most of us using Linux and doing high-end pro. work really need to be able to import and work in those raw formats to eleminate any data loss. Gimp 2.0 does narrow the "distance" between it and PhotoShop some, but the lack of proper raw format support doesn't help in getting pros. and amateurs to use Linux. I'm not a code jockey so I can't help out. :) Fred -- "Steve Ballmer is no more designed for the art of persuasion than the Abrams tank is for delivering meals on wheels."
