Go to /usr/src/ and check your kernel version... I presume on 9.0 is 2.4.21-199-default or something like that... enter that directory and issue a make menuconfig and you can browse the menu to see what options are enabled... pretty much most of them are... You could play with that and change options and recompile kernel (make dep, make clean, make modules, make modules_install) or install a vanilla kernel - which I recommend so that you can always have your default kernel to return to if you screw up anything - and play with that... Good luck! Daniel lerninlinux@comcast.net wrote:
First the kernel question. How do I find out what is and isn't in my default kernel? Suse 9.0, I was thinking of compiling one to learn and to change the bootsplash. I might add a couple of options but I'd like to know if they are already in there.
K3b: I downloaded the k3b rpm from Suse's site when I found out that they forgot the ability to make cd's from mp3. Uninstalled the cd one and installed the "corrected one". It crashes on startup. Had to reinstall the old to do backups. Now I would like to try it again. Where do I find the error messages (what is the logfiles name) and has anybody else had this problem.
On a side note, are there any plugins that allow me to filter/level the volume of all the mp3's as I burn them?
