Hi, It's been a while since i ran 8.0. My mouse often casued a similar problem until I got it's configuration right. IIRC, if the box started the boot process, and if i could open a vitural terminal, say: Ctrl+Alt+F1, then: log in as root, and do: Init 3, and then go back to Init 5. If you do that if often reconfigure the mouse and stop the "spanning" problem. If that doesn't work, I would use the CD1. Reboot the machine by either init 6, "shutdown now" Ctrl+Alt+delete, or hitting the reset button, or, if nothing else worked, powering off. Some people have had to "kick"the power plug out of from the wall socket but that is pretty "hardcore" Then restart the machine, and when you get the screen choose your language and choose; "boot installed system" If it is a mouse problem, if you can get a Virtual Terminal, you can start yast by just doing: "yast" Hope this helps, Gar -- __________________________________________________________________ Introducing the New Netscape Internet Service.
